Youth wanders away to find life,
toddlers of adulthood searching
perfection without nurturing
their innocence, despite the strife.
In middle age our verbal knife
becomes a weapon on life’s street.
We rush past love — and all we meet
become the victims of our quest.
In old age we witness the best,
impaled by death’s sword of defeat.
Well that’s just so true and brilliant 💜
