Stop Passing Advertising Materials
I want businessess to stop passing advertising materials off as real email (otherwise known as SPAM).
At work, some agency keeps sending me emails about their wonderful nursing assistants. I have unsubscribed over and over again, only to find yet another email under someone else’s name being sent to me.
It took months of constantly sending the emails into the SPAM folder for it to subside. Now, I get about one email a month from these people — and that goes into the SPAM folder, too.
Why didn’t God consider that SPAM was going to be worse than lusting after someone’s wife?
In my email today, I received yet another spam from yet another place that doesn’t want to understand what the word “unsubscribe” means.
- It doesn’t mean I want emails once a week instead of daily.
- It doesn’t mean you can sneak one into my email once a month.
It means STOP SENDING ME THE D@#$%D EMAILS!! EVER!!! FOR THE REMAINDER OF ETERNITY!!!!
There. I’ve said it and, yes, I do feel better now.
I so agree 💯!

Thanks. 🙂
I’m sure this has happened to you, too: My email keeps asking “Don’t you want to unsubscribe instead?” At first, I did. Then I gave up and just sent it all to the SPAM. folder.

Yes indeed spam it all or even block it!

Blocking doesn’t work. They just send it from another email address. It’s even worse with telephone spam. Telephone spammers know when you unsubscribe and they double their sends to you. When you block them, they send your phone number to all their friends and the next thing you know you have 12 calls a day about the same thing but from different states. And you can’t block every phone number in the universe. Several years ago, I even got a call from my own phone number! WHAT?!?

You are correct. I remember getting a call from my own phone number, too. I rarely turn on my cellphone, and my phone picks up calls after 3 rings. I created the most annoying message on my answerphone I could possibly record, and that has helped, too. If I take a nap, I remove the phone line from the phone.

You can unsubscribe from something as many times as you want, but in my experience it never works. They back off for a little while, then go cheerfully back to business as usual.

You are absolutely correct. When I send them to spam enough times, the emails either stop or slow down considerably.
