Senseless Sunday Sarcasm : Alive

Woke up alive again today —  Willy Nelson.

He wrote that song in 2015, after waking up one morning only to discover that he was (supposedly) dead.

I can sort-of relate.  I had COVID-19 six months before it escaped from the Wuhan lab.

April 2019, I lost my sense of taste and smell.  I’d never lost my sense of taste and smell, and it didn’t return for 3 months!!!

I had visited the local clinic for a blood test on April 1 (aka April fools day) and 5 days later I could hardly get out of bed. Lungs were congested, couldn’t eat, loss of taste and smell, no appetite…the same symptoms as COVID-19.

That’s the story of my life.

As I’ve mentioned several times in my blog, I was born butt first.  Yes, I arrived mooning the world and mom almost died…twice; from Ether and malpractice.

The doctor filling in for mom’s regular doctor was okay.  He left the hospital, drove home, and had a mild heart attack.  Oh, the irony of it:  He was a cardiologist.

Thankfully, I was a very skinny 5 pound baby, who was supposed to be born around the first week of August, ergo why her doctor was on vacation.

If you’re wondering why doctors started getting sued, her regular doctor arrived at the hospital and ordered Mom to stand up.  The nurse begged him to look at the chart, but he wouldn’t listen.  She nearly died from the hemorrhaging.

So there you have it:  I came into this world the wrong way, and I had COVID-19 six month before the pandemic started.  It makes me wonder if I’ll die first, be pulled back to “Earth” — and then finally die after I can’t remember who I am.

Willie Nelson wrote another song, one that sounds a lot like his other song:  “I woke up still not dead again today.”

He’s 88 years young and still kicking.
