My father was four inches shorter than six feet. His thick build and barrel chest were developed from strapping pianos on his back and carrying them up several flights of stairs for thirty years of his life.
He hated “New Yorkers” after he carried a baby grand piano up three flights of stairs in Miami one summer. The moment that rich woman from up north told him not to enter her apartment until he removed the stench from his body, he should’ve had a meltdown. He drove home, showered, and finished moving the piano so he could get paid.
What an amazing man 💜

He was amazing. He put his family first, no matter what he had to do. After 50, he worked 2 jobs and when he was 62 he fell off a ladder at work and had to go on disability. He passed away in his sleep from heart failure (he had an enlarged heart from all the strain to his body).

That blew me away, Joelle. The inhumanity of treating a person like a mule. For that matter, the ugliness of those who sniff at mules. What’s that saying? Some people have more money than sense. It can be expanded into, some people have more money than compassion. Thought provoking flash!

Thanks. 😊
That is exactly what I was trying to convey. And how one person’s actions can make an entire city, state or country look bad.

Thanks for this emotional look into the goodness people still have, despite those who give them a bad name. His actions are honourable, they remind me of my own dad, he gave everything to his kids, no matter what others did, he always kept his dignity, right till the end. A powerful portrayal, Joelle.
