The first 4 lines
I have the first 4 lines of a new book.
An ominous feeling surrounds me, like being in a pitch black room…and something softly growls.
Evil is about to enact its plans, unrestricted; plans that have been awaiting fruition for many years.
Whether or not it will succeed, “ominous” oozes outward from inside the darkest heart and I can feel its anticipation.
All I can do is warn.
That’s it.
Now what?
The next thing I’d want to do is turn on the light (which could involve a lot of chapters).

That would make sense. If it’s a strange room I woke up inside, I’d have to guess where a light switch might be.
Now THAT just put a cramp in my stomach thinking about it.

Well, it may not be a book yet, but at least it’s a post.

Not much of a post, but it’s a start.
By the time NaNoWriMo comes around, I might add another 49,950 words to it. 🙂

Great beginning, and turning on the light or even finding it, would be the logical next step.
But what if…

Yes…it’s the “what if’s” that keep the story going — and a million of them are racing through a brain not used to that much traffic. 😃

I remember that feeling…

Now what? Write the last four lines of the book next. Then all you will have to do is fill in the rest in between.Easy peasy!

LOL! Funny! I have, before, been given the last chapter of a book in a dream and then had to do just that.
