2021 : It’s 2020 on steriods.
I’m beginning to think there’s a lot of truth to that.
Instead of presenting you with the details of my latest 1st world problem, I’ll summarize it for you:
Son of a B
The 5th lumbar has a nerve root. That nerve root is inflamed. My new companion has become an ice pack, 3 ibuprofen every 6 hours, and pain. Lots and lots of pain shooting down the butt, hip, thigh, shins, leg, foot, and toes.
Some people feel numbness. That would be nice. Right now, it’s constant back pain with intermittent electric shocks that force my left leg to buckle.
With 11 dogs in the house who all want to “help”, trying to walk when one leg just doesn’t want to work correctly is like being on a rollercoaster with no seatbelt.
Will it kill me? No — not physically. There isn’t a single place I need to walk where there aren’t walls, counters, shelves…something to catch my fall besides the floor. But the dogs aren’t used to the meaner side of me.
I’ve had to shout “NO” at a dog preparing to leap on me. Said dog slinks off to one of the living room chairs or onto my bed. I don’t like making my doggies feel bad for just wanting to show their love.
What, you might asked, caused this pain in the butt to happen?
I have absolutely no friggin’ idea. But given the way 2021 has started, I’m expecting Godzilla to emerge from the ocean any time now.
In the meantime, I might not be posting or reading as much until I can sit for more than 1/2 hour at a time.
