Ronovan Writes Poetry Challenge : Decima & Haiku
Décima (8 syllables, 10 lines, rhyme pattern: abbaaccddc)
Today’s Décima challenge is the word BLIND. This word must be one of the C line words. Then the other C line(s) word(s) must rhyme with BLIND.
Haiku (5 – 7 – 5 syllables. Doesn’t have to rhyme) Life and View.
For instructions about how to write a decima, or a Haiku, go to the Ronovan Writes blog site

Décima
Fetid breath, rapid from his want,
rained down upon my coiffured hair.
Raucous, his laughter did declare,
You are the prey I am to hunt.
Alone, against a bold affront,
one may prevail, with sharpened mind.
Another joined us as we dined,
“Father, did you know his intent,
an evil evident by scent?”
Sightless is not the same as blind.
Haiku
Perception views life
without color, scent, or sound,
through portals of thought.
Nice last line contrasting sightless with blind.

I wonder why people come up with these different poetry forms. Is it to make poetry more enjoyable for the reader? I don’t think so. I do like how mind-mending it is to write, though.
