Not in the mood
Not in the mood for light sarcasm today. I awoke at 4 in the morning with a grey splotch on the right side of the right eye. Twenty years ago, I had retinal detachment surgery on both eyes. It has taken years for the eyes to start seeing adequately, and now I’m concerned I’ll be needing surgery on the right eye — again.
As if voter fraud in the USA isn’t enough of a concern.
Between that, and what my SIL is presently going through in her life, it sucks the humor right out of a person.
As you will see, I left the worst news for last.
A mother dog had been abandoned near a gas station a few months ago. My SIL took her in with a plan to find homes for the pups after they were old enough. The mother dog gave birth to 13 puppies.
My SIL found a home for one puppy, and was trying to find homes for the other pups.
She went into town on Friday, and during that time someone jumped the fence intent on poisoning them.
I won’t go into detail about how useless animal control and the veterinarians in the area were in this situation. Animal control didn’t offer to euthanize puppies screaming in pain, and veterinary offices couldn’t possibly help without syphoning money from a woman living on social security.
Oh, and she was advised to get a camera system. A little late, don’t you think?
Had Dr. Jeff been available, I have no doubt he would have rushed to the scene to help. But the best veterinarian in the world died from cancer recently. https://rantingalong.blog/2020/11/09/the-worlds-best-veterinarian-2/
No, at this moment I’m not in a particularly happy mood, and can’t stop wishing the same miserable fate on the person who poisoned 10 happy, loving puppies.
