Up, Work, and working cats
It’s 5:00 am. I’m supposed to sleep until 7:00 am, but my bladder had a different agenda.
Yesterday was Labor Day in the USA. Although it’s supposed to be a day of rest, relaxation, barbecues, and drunks, I’d rather not be anywhere near a party or a road until tomorrow morning.
I spent a few hours working on an annual report for my job. As usual, my Chili Coon Kitty (who thinks he’s hot stuff) wanted to help.
To give my arm a break, uh…I mean…to give my arm a rest, I left my desk to pour ice cold water from the refrigerator into my favorite red mug.
It was nirvana to type without a 20 pound coon cat resting on my arm. And then, I reached for a drink.
Notice the rubber band around my phone. Chili Coon Kitty loves to bat the receiver off and listen to the lady say, over and over again, “If you would like to make a call, please hang up and dial the number.”
Work was…to be kind…the fulfillment of that Chinese proverb: “May you live in interesting times.”
If you think I have it bad, ask the resident bull dane what she thinks. She’s been on the wrong end of his claws more than once.
She stared at him.
Yes, I have to admit, his kingdom is my desk, and he rules it with an iron claw.
But that face is to die for.
