#writephoto prompt : Silver
Silver is the color of ruined dreams.
Shining granite hills carved to make a road.
Taking love for granted, unable to understand
why our silver candelabras were shattered
by step-children angry at our happiness.
.
Silver is the color of thinning hair
surrounding the reflection of an aged face.
.
Silver is the color of fillings useless
in teeth destined for extraction, portents
of youth squandered on white lies and wishes.
We learn too late to fear the dark clouds
framed as dreams with silver linings.
