Sometimes Posts Are Missing (SPAM)
I’ll have to consider it “Operator Error.”
The notifications for your new posts were being sent to my S*P*A*M folder.
It’s possible that WordPress made yet another change that foobarred my site.
However; given my history with computers, it’s probably operator error.
After spending 15 minutes sending email to “NOT SPAM!” (aka, the Inbox), I’m reminded that some days it’s not worth getting out of bed in the morning.
Screwing up computers is not my only talent. You should see what I can do with a blender (I’ve been through 5 of them in 20 years).
When I went in to manage the blogs I follow on WordPress, it said I wasn’t following any. That was AFTER a message appeared that said I was following too many blogs (or something like that)
Subscription Management
You have several pending subscriptions and cannot subscribe to more blogs until you have activated or deleted them. Please visit the Pending section to manage these subscriptions.
Your subscription did not succeed, please try again with a valid email address.
You can now manage the blogs you follow in the WordPress.com Reader.
This might be easy to remedy, IF I knew where to find the “Pending section.”
As I’ve said — many times — the only reason I have a blog is Vickie, my blog partner who never posts anything.
One day, I’ll understand computers better — most likely after reincarnation.
It must be true that computers are to die for.
The wonders of technology, eh? Sometimes my comments on other people’s blogs go straight to their spam boxes, even though I may have been commenting successfully for years! No point in trying to figure it out 🙂

I agree. The best I can do is warn that I haven’t been ignoring people.

I sympathize 🥴

It would be nice if WordPress saw this and tried to find a remedy.

😜😂😂LOL! That’s true, computer are to die for. Apologies if my comments are moved to spam folder, I’ve updated my email ID and you might have faced that because of me.🙄 Don’t throw anything at me. I’m a bit far from your place, but you can throw anything virtually 😜. When I first read SPAM I felt guilty whether it’s because of my comments moved to spam☺️ enjoyed reading it Joelle, I keep learning to have fun with hard times whenever I read your blog😇😇. Have a wonderful day Joelle ✨😻😍

Thanks. 🙂
Finding a way to laugh at stuff keeps me from breaking things I’d rather keep (like my computer). 😀

I’ve had this issue before… But I don’t remember the answer. Wasn’t there a hyperlink in the message so you could navigate to the pending folder?
Ok, so I found it.
1. Navigate to your dashboard rantingalong.blog/wp-admin (I think)
2. On your left, click on “Blogs I follow” (pretty high on the list)
3. Pending is the third link from the left.
4. Confirm/delete as appropriate by moving your mouse onto the link (confirm/delete will appear)
Hope that helps.

Thanks. I did that with the pending ones. Problem is, I like using the old system — the new one has to much bright white and I’m light sensitive. The computer monitor is already down to 29% brightness. I can’t stand using their new system and now I’m being forced to use it.

It’s not our fault. Computers are evil, and we would be better off if they had never been invented. And the bigger WordPress becomes, the less it cares about how it serves or neglects bloggers. I think WordPress is now all about businesses and their corporate websites.

I wish we could still get Windows 7. Actually, I liked XP the best. Windows 10 is intolerable. You can get different cars and different radios, but you’re only allowed Windows 10? It has never made any sense to me to alienate so much of the population.

I always use Apple products.

The problem is the price is far out of my range, and then there’s the maintenance. Apple was far ahead of it’s time when I used one in 1992.
Maybe I can afford one when I become a wealthy author. 😂😂😂

Yeah, they are too expensive. I bought the very first edition of the iMac, back in the days when I was affluent. Since then I buy the smallest possible, which is OK since all I do is word processing. And I use them forever. Still too expensive, but using Apple products is my one extravagance.
