We
enjoyed
walking by
summer sunsets
bathed in innocence.
As I scatter ashes
of half my heart, I cry for
one more moment to savor us,
to watch my love on four paws running
along this beach as if life had no end.
Do not preach the same theme to me again,
she was only a dog, find a man.
Is it better to love purely
for ten years, or love poorly
as humans tend to do?
Trade longevity,
for quality?
You are my
setting
sun.
