The life of a writer

We live a solitary game, inhabiting a shell,

wandering, hiding, looking for a purpose,

or pawning our lives away

waiting for fame.

.

I asked, “How do I win this game.”

She said, “You keep going,

you keep doing right…

no matter what.”

.

Over and over she said to me,

“You keep going,

you keep doing right…

no matter what.”

.

The die thrown around us,

we wait our turn,

as if death defines our moments,

and we hear her whisper.

.

“Keep going…keep doing

write

no matter what.”

.

Your book is inside,

an expression of your being

waiting to meet you…

wanting life.
