Waiting…
At the portal of birth,
The first freeing step,
Awareness of “you,”
a first word.
Waiting
For the bus to your
First day of school,
For the next grade,
Your next test.
Waiting
To finish school,
Get a job, a family,
A promotion to
Buy that home.
Waiting
Never watching,
Or appreciating now
For its fleeting beauty,
And
As the color of life
Fades before your eyes,
The portal opens…
Waiting
For your last breath.

Strange how life goes by so quickly. All we have are our memories, and those (according to science) can rarely be relied upon.

We all have that one moment. It feels like magic, and never comes again. But it’s always in our hearts.
