I took the liberty of letting the eyes do the talking instead of using the word “cute.” It just didn’t seem to fit what the newest member of our 4-footed family must have been through. We found him with splotches of fur missing, he hadn’t eaten in so long he was wobbly, and he had a tattered ear.
Only the woods know their stories, and many never survive. Nothing says love like those eyes, a treasure I value far more than “cute.”
You found me hungry,
looking for human kindness,
instead of contempt.
You circled me in your arms,
seeing my love, not the scars.

Beautiful, those eyes told the story, thanks for being so caring to those unwanted animals, I don’t see no scars either just an animal needing love an understanding.

He’s presently sleeping in the middle of a king sized bed. He used to have some terrible dreams, now he has more times of contentment in between.
