Electric on. Internet up.
Just a short note to say “Thank you FPL!” (Florida Power and Light).
They brought in teams from all over the country and had them in place to start work once Hurricane Irma left for her visit to Georgia.
As a child living in south Florida, it took 2 weeks or more for the electricity to come back on. I’m thankful it only took about 2 days.
The land line and Internet came on about 30 minutes ago.
I’ll be posting again soon, but there are people to contact first.
Way to go FLP

I have a tanka to write. I’m probably going to wait until tomorrow to do any blogging. 🙂

No pressure, even if you don’t get it written for another week, it’s anyways nice to read your writing even if it isn’t a poem.

We were extremely fortunate. There are so many others who weren’t. I have friends who came back to houses with no electricity and in some cases extensive damage.
When Hurricanes Katrina and Ike hit Louisiana and Texas, there were people with blue tarps over the roofs waiting for repairs for years. Too many in need, to few to provide the work.

Hopefully that won’t be the case this time, but there is too much recent damage. I know there are a lot of organizations attempting to provide help, but they are stretched thin across too many states and island territories.

We were fortunate to be one of the least affected areas of Florida.
