“Is that Crystalline?” Josh asked. “I ordered you not to…”
“You’re clear as glass.”
He scratched a spot on a head full of luscious black hair and asked, “Huh?”
“You proposed to me twice. I said no.”
“If I ask you again and you say no, I’ll walk!” he said with a scowl. “And I expect a key to your place…”
“I have a job and own my home. You don’t. What I lack in my life is a man who respects me. Goodbye, Josh. Is that crystalline enough for you?”
I turned away from him, never looking back.

Good for you….respect is all important, without it we are nothing..

To few words to do it justice. He thought his handsomeness would lock her in, and then he’d control her. The smart woman looks past the face and into the soul.

Most definitely. Sad isn’t it that so many men think that’s how it all goes…

One would have to be as sharply crystalline as your female character here. What a dullard Josh is. Or is it that like many unrequited lovers, he longs to be with a woman even when she does not want to be with him. I have never understood that tendency. I’d rather have my pride that be with a man who did not desire me. Inventive use of the prompt 🙂

Thanks. Josh is the embodiment of men so good looking that they can’t imagine a woman would walk away. He’s looking for a free ride and a woman he can belittle. Once he’s taken everything from her and she’s no longer a game to be won, he’ll leave the wreckage behind and look for new game.

His vanity and controlling ways come through crystal clear. And I’m glad your other character sees right through him!

Far too few can see it coming. Ah, to have in youth the wisdom hard earned in later years.

We mistake the obvious cues when younger, or choose to overlook them, blinded by the attributes that really don’t matter.
