Extremes
There’s a burn ban on.
That was fine when the temperature hit 96 last month and Florida was beginning to burst into flames.
It’s presently 71F, the skies are crying, and the humidity is 100%. I awoke at 3 in the morning feeling as if someone had wrapped me inside a cold, wet, blanket.

Not that I haven’t been called a cold, wet blanket before. Weather Whether or not that’s true isn’t the topic of this mini-rant.
Our weather forecast for the next 2 weeks can be summed up in one word: Rain.
The highest temperature for the next week is 86. In June. In Florida.
I’ve stopped praying for rain and started begging for atmospheric sanity.
We’re playing the Thermals or Bikini game too.

We may think that the only constants are death and taxes, but I have to say that before humans walked the Earth, the only constant in this world was climate change.
I may not be able to do anything about it, but don’t have to like freezing my feet of in June. 🙂

Been raining off and on here, since a week ago Monday. Today is supposed to be sunny and cooler–mid eighties. My grass looks like a hay field.

Yeah, I don’t u derstand living in areas that are only ever hot! It’s why I couldn’t live in Queensland or Darwin.

It is called monsson weather … and we gardeners pray for it. Makes great veggies to share with those we love. When it is unseasonably cool I remind myself that it is easier to put more clothes on than to take any more off when you are now naked. My advoce to as many gardeners as read this is to put every container you can out to catch water and store it because the usual follow up to monsoon is drought, Catch Water will save on the power bill to run the pump or the water bill for those that have city water. And I always have saved water around for when we lose power. Have potable water marked for that and a lot of jugs for flushing and for cleaning. Being Florida born and raised I learned at an early age to always keep water stored.
