When that happens to me, I perch on the edge of the seat and continue what I was doing on the computer. But, I have to admit that my kitty is smaller then yours.

Lifted him up and put him on my lap, where he stayed until I put him on the chair. When I came back, I lifted him up and put him on my lap…
He only wants to be on my lap when it’s cold, and the past few days have been unseasonably chilly.

I would immediately execute the swift and seamless Retrieve and Squeeze maneuver until the growling and writhing forced me to put it back down. I’ve brought the neighbor Maine Coon over to my side on this one–purring, settling, contented face sniffing–and he doesn’t even let his owners touch him. But then, I am awesome and cats are smart about stuff like that.

OBCC likes the pick-me-up-and-pet-my tummy routine. Sometimes Coon Cat will endure it, too. They love a warm lap in cold weather, but during the summer they’re out chasing small game. 🙂
