Joelle’s tales: First Thursday of the month #TMAT120 #writing #prompt for January
REMINDER:
You have until January 12 to write 120 words & put your link into the reply section.
TELL ME A TALE IN 120 WORDS
Welcome to January 5 Today’s prompt is: Your first kiss.
So that you don’t feel so alone in your embarrassment, here’s the story of my first kiss:
I wasn’t mature for my age (that’s like saying a polar bear has fur).
In 11th grade, I finally made a friend. The day after we met, she invited me to her birthday party!
Fifty people packed her house and yard. Too many! I found one place no one inhabited: Her parent’s library.
“Why are you in here?” Adonis in a dress shirt asked.
“No one else likes Science Fiction,” I replied.
We stepped outside to look at the stars, a gentle South Florida breeze cuddling my face the moment we kissed.
At school, I wondered about the frowns, whispers…points.
I asked someone from the party,“ Where’s my friend?”
“Remember they guy you were kissing?”
“Why?”
“That was her boyfriend.”
Here are the rules:
-
A prompt for #TMAT120 will be given the first Thursday of every month. The prompt challenge begins whenever it’s that day in your time zone. For example: 12:01am to 11:59pm January 5th. It ends on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
-
I will chose one each month that I like the best and highlight it the next month. It will be the one I liked the best, but not necessarily the one an editor or anyone else would like best. ☺
-
Limit your #TMAT120 post to 120 words and a link to the #TMAT site. People who participate in limited-word prompts aren’t expecting a 1,000 word explanation before it begins.
-
Use this picture above to show that you are participating in the #TMAT120. Please don’t alter (except for size).
-
Please don’t use hard-core curse words. Only lazy writers use variations of the F word for shock “value.”
-
Copy and paste the URL in the reply section below, or you can do a pingback if you have a WordPress blog.
-
Take time to read other people’s posts, after all it’s only 120 words. And you might make a new friend.

I’d love it if you’d try this challenge.
As a follow-up to what I wrote. My new friend never spoke to me again, and although I was pretty much pariah before, the problem got worse.
However, her boyfriend came to my door (a surprise visit), gave me a passionate kiss, wanted to go out on a date and that’s when my mother stepped out of her sewing den. The next week was not a pleasant time at home. 🙂

Thanks. 🙂
I’d just met her and she didn’t mention a boyfriend.

I worry everytime I see those serious sun glasses…lol

Extreme light sensitivity, among other things. If you’ve had your eyes dilated and then walked out into the sun, that’s what it’s like. Nothing life threatening. 🙂

Oh yes I’ve had that happen to me…..I know I’d be lost without my glasses as well…good luck with your prompt I hope you receive a heap of entries…

Somehow I missed that the prompt changed 🙂 . I will make another attempt at this next month. I would probably have written a poem about this one anyway 😉

I’ll be redoing my instructions, too, because I want to highlight everyone’s entries.
