#amwriting Colleen’s Weekly #Tanka #Poetry Prompt Challenge #8 – TIME & LAUGHTER
Sun lowers her head,
laughter escapes weary minds,
winter’s somber light.
Crisp grass crumbles underfoot.
Depressions form over time.
Did I mention that I despise winter?
It’s 9 in the morning and…and 50 degrees F…and I’m sitting at my computer wearing fleece and socks with my flip flops!
!!!!It’s insane, I tell you! Insane!!!!
Personally, I don’t think I used enough exclamation points to emphasize my dismay.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in case you need a few more…

Thanks. 🙂
I lived in Minnesota for 2 years and Wisconsin for 7, and loved everything about those states except for the weather. Never could get acclimated. It is my belief that people who love cold weather should stay up north and people who love hot weather should stay down south. That saves heating fuel for people up north who don’t need their house at 80 in the winder, and those of us who never use A/C in our homes down south don’t have to walk into places that are freezing in the summer 🙂

makes a whole lot of sense. I am in Canada and winters are really cold here.

LOL! I walked my dogs this morning and it was 50 degrees. I had on a tank-top and light sweatshirt. Whew! It’s hot! By Thursday, we should return to normal temperatures – highs in the 30’s! I love Colorado! I grew up in Wisconsin and lived in Montana for over 17 years. I love the cold. I was miserable living in Florida (northwest FL). The heat and humidity almost killed me. 😉 And, you did fine with your Tanka. Sometimes it is better to just let the words out as they come. ❤

If only everyone would do what you and I did — live where we can be comfortable and environmentally friendly at the same time.

I was in Florida for a year, and I too ran back to NYC because of the heat, lol.
