Writer’s Quote Wednesday #Writing Challenge Theme-“Passion” #WQWWC
It took me fifteen years to discover I had no talent for writing, but I couldn’t give it up because by that time I was too famous. – Robert Benchley

I had to use that quote, it made me laugh so hard!
I asked my cat what he thought about my writing addiction.
Cats can be so self-absorbed!
Loved the quote.

What I read between the lines is that “talent” is just a word used to describe that airy intangible that determines what does or does not draw people to your work.

My favorite political quote, from the late, great Everette Dirksen, applies here. “I think that’s amorphous, ephemeral, and borders on the diaphanous.”

That’s an hilariously muddy way to say: Not classifiable, doesn’t last long, and not substantial. 🙂

Exactly–It was thought that Dirksen’s wild, shock of white hair, and excessive verbosities, inspired the owl character in the “Pogo” comic strip. Hmm–wonder who inspired “Foghorn Leghorn?”

And he’s got the look! or is it a ‘she’?

You need to time food time better. That way, you can have a nice well fed happy cat fast asleep on your lap while tapping away and n your computer. So, wish I could attach a photo of my cat right now. My writing powers remain under turned. To the future. Cheers,H

They have a bowl of perpetual dry food. They want their can of food around 7:30am. And it better be the stringy stuff in liquid.
If I’m not up, Other Brother Coon Cat will jump on my stomach and lie on my chest to purr at me. If that doesn’t work, he’ll start kneading my skin with his claws. But, alas, that doesn’t always work. The dogs who sleep around me will lick him until, disgusted, he leaves.
4:00 pm is their preferred time to get their other can of food. I know that if I don’t feed them before I make my own dinner, there will be cat h#!! to pay. 🙂

That cat isn’t cute, he’s freakin’ gorgeous! How can anyone deny such beauty?
Pretty easy when that beauty is dancing on your face at 5 AM, though, amiright?

He has the most expressive foot-long tail I have ever seen. Yes, it’s 12 inches long. I’ve measured it. He is gorgeous, and I love the expressions in his eyes. 🙂

He has eight inches on the Donald-HAHAHAHAHA!
Yeah, those eyes say it all: “I think I’ll take my tuna in the library today, slave.”

Or 10 inches on the B. O.
He is notorious for sitting in front of the keyboard, or sloooowly wandering across the keyboard, or sitting in front of the monitor. 🙂 It’s a good thing he’s cute.

Always be aware of one’s own cuteness. It’s like a loaded gun, it’s powerful and must be wielded with responsibility.
I always thought cats enjoyed the warm-keyboard-and-monitor-combined-with-being-close-to-the-favorite-human aspect. Of course, some are just assholes. The cats, not the humans. Well, okay, the humans, too.

I think that humans far exceed cats in the @$$hole area. Cats are what they are, and don’t try to be anything else. 🙂

Cats are the epitome of selfishness. Shame that it’s become anathema of late, it’s so useful and lovely.

We expect it from cats and, sad to say, it’s easy to fall prey to their cuteness.:-)
