Haiku Contest Week 2 – Ocean Sunset

Dear Readers,
Your assignment, should you decide to accept it, is to write your own Haiku about this photo and include a link to your site if you like. We would appreciate a link back to this site from your site, but that is not a requirement for entering the contest. All entries will remain the property of the individual authors, but we reserve the right to post the winning Haikus on our site, along with the photo prompt, the award, acknowledgement of authorship, and a link to the winner’s site (if they have one).
Please type your entry in a new comment at the bottom of this page, NOT as a response to another comment. Readers can vote by clicking ‘LIKE’ on the individual Haiku comments, and may ‘LIKE’ as many as they like.
Votes will be counted each Monday evening at 9:00 EST and the winner will be awarded the Silver H (for Haiku) to post on their site. We will copy and paste the winning Haiku in a separate posting on this site including recognition, the Silver H award, and a link to the winner’s site at 9:00 am the Wednesday after voting closes.
A new photo Haiku prompt will be posted each Monday at 9:00 am EST for a total of 5 weeks (including the first Haiku) and resulting poems will be available for votes until the following Sunday at 9:00 pm.
Humor, tongue-in-cheek, cheeky, serious, stern, educational, quirky…let your imagination run wild!

Winner will be posted August 26, 9:00 am
Week 2 – August 24 Final vote 9:00 pm August 30
Winner will be posted September 2, 9:00 am
Week 3 – August 31 Final vote 9:00 pm September 6
Winner will be posted September 9, 9:00 am
Week 4 – September 7 Final vote 9:00 pm September 13
Winner will be posted September 16, 9:00 am
Week 5 – September 14 Final vote 9:00 pm September 20
Winner will be posted September 23, 9:00 am
All 5 winning Silver Haiku’s will be posted September 28
for a final week of voting to determine
the Grand Champion Golden Haiku Winner.
Final vote 9:00 pm October 4
Grand Champion Haiku Winner will be posted October 7, 9:00 am
Winners will be entirely based on reader votes so get your Haikus in early, tell your friends, and please….ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PER WEEK so check and edit before you post.
