Screwy

My sister, Bobby, on a trip through France and Switzerland. She was staying the night in a quaint hotel just inside the German-speaking section of Switzerland with her not-quite-right sister (me).
Go get yourself a virtual cup of tea,
Pretend that you are sitting next to me,
and we can talk the whole night long about
how screwed up every writer tends to be.
<_>
I saw this post and I had to follow you. Am so screwy as a writer! There I said it 🙂

Glad to invite you into the world of not-quite-right. Feel free to look inside all of the virtual rooms of my digital mansion. 🙂

Sounds amazing! Is tea and coffee on offer? Cakes?

How many digital sugar cubes would you like with your virtual tea, or do you use artificial digits? 🙂

The Irish Breakfast tea, double strength. It’s in the green ceramic pot on the table next to the gallon jug of honey. While I get the carton of sugar cubes and a few napkins (to clean up the honey I’ll probably spill), feel free to tell me about your life as a writer. 🙂

Hmmmmm well…a year ago I decided to do something with my writing. I went on a course, started my blog and took part in NaNoWriMo. This year I am co-writing by first book with another author, am now writing for a writing magazine and blogging a lot. Wow the tea here is good! Excuse me whilst I dab all the honey away from my mouth. So the writing dream is slowly coming. I beat myself up most days about my writing. You?

My mantra is: I can’t NOT write.
As I do everything in life, I did writing all backwards. (see https://rantingalong.wordpress.com/2015/03/14/the-hardest-part-about-writing/ ).
That will explain a great deal about me. I can sip on my tea until you’ve finished reading. 🙂

Wow you never gave up did you? That’s quite an inspirational post you have there. I do worry that I don’t have the editing skills to write my book so your post resonated with me. I also worry one day I will get so disheartened I will give up. The urge to write is getting stronger though, huge, now I am writing 1000 words everyday and am a frustrated mess if I don’t do anything. Will take on board your post message. Stay in touch – your tea is wonderful 🙂

It will scare people, but as my doctor once told me when I asked him if I should try to explain myself, “Go ahead and say and do as you feel. People already think you’re crazy. You don’t want to disappoint them”.

I spent most of my childhood trying to achieve a level of normal that was never going to happen. As I tell people often and well, “Embrace your inner weird.”
Most of the popular people in your high school (as well as mine) moved into mundane lives, going to class reunions to relive their popularity. The mind of a writer lives in a world of her creation, and stands out for her ability to be extraordinary.
When you consider the definition of insanity, Hitler’s definition might be different from Bin Laden’s which is entirely different from Gloria Steinem’s. In my mind, the definition of insanity greatly depends upon who is doing the defining. 🙂
hmmm….that sounds like the start of a new blog post, or something to put in my book, or…

With a couple of small changes…absolutely! Thanks for being the spark that lit this tiny flame of poetic-ness. 🙂

I give credit where credit is due. Had I not written the reply, this post would never have happened.
So take your well-deserved bow, grab a cup of virtual tea, and know that you’re appreciated. 🙂

I could theoretically drink coffee, but I have no taste for tea. 🙂

Virtual coffee is as free as virtual tea. You’re welcome to a few bytes of oatmeal raisin bars and to bring your favorite virtual coffee to the table. 🙂

Wow … the closest thing I got to Swiss besides Swiss cheese was a serving of Pasta ‘Aglio!

If my sister hadn’t taken me there, I never would have seen Switzerland–the only place in the world I really wanted to go. She does things like that and calls them an “unbirthday” present. 🙂
