Poetry War: Why do cats…
Why do cats sleep in the worst possible places?
Why do cats insist upon inhabiting strange spaces?
Why do cats precariously perch upon a ledge?
They wonder why they’re stomped or fried
or jammed into a wedge.
I really want to understand why cats will flail and fly
at just the very second that I happen to walk by.
The genius who can answer this deserves a wild applause.
Can someone help me spare my legs from frantic kitty claws?
