Writing with cats

Stillness follows cats

Share the heat of your lap with

gentle, purrful prayer

Up at 1:30am, going back to bed at 4am. That’s what happens when another chapter won’t stop pestering you until you get up and write it out.

20 pound coon cat has been on my lap for most of that time with intermittent purrs, nudges and trills.  Occasionally, he’ll dig his claws into my thigh, then look up at me with those eyes that say, “time for a treat.”

These are the tender moments, where the purrs of life brings out the happy in me.
